If you like coffee and salted caramel, you'll love this cake. The cake itself is a fluffy vanilla-coffee flavored cake that we literally pour freshly brewed coffee into. It's pretty stinking good. Then we'll layer it with homemade salted caramel sauce and Buttercream that we've whipped our salted caramel into. Elaborate? maybe. Worth it? very. If it sounds complicated, don't worry. I've got step by step photos to help you along the way Let's make cake together... If you're ever overwhelmed by a recipe a good rule of thumb is to: -read through the whole recipe -make sure you have the time to start and finish the recipe -measure out all ingredients before you start _read the recipe one more time before beginning. It'll help you to be familiar with the recipe and techniques, and it'll ensure you don't skip a step or ingredient. We'll begin with a large mixing bowl and 4 cups of all purpose flour. to that we'll add 3 cups of granulated sugar 1 1/2 Tbsp Baking Powder and 1 1/2 tsp salt whisk to combine pour in 2 Tbsp Vanilla Extract 1 cup vegetable oil 1 1/2 cups whole milk 3 eggs mix on low speed with a paddle attachment or by hand with a large whisk, then use a silicon spatula to make sure no clumps are stuck to the bowl Lastly, pour in 1 1/2 cups brewed, cooled coffee. Gently whisk it in making sure everything is incorporated. This recipe makes three 8 inch layers. So, prep 3, 8 inch pans by spreading butter on them and then laying parchment paper on top. Put 3 cups of batter into each pan. Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes, until the center is no longer jiggly. Follow these tips for frosting your cake!
