My dad loves banana pudding. So, for father's day I wanted to take that and make it into a cake. Light vanilla cake, thick creamy pudding, layered with banana slices and covered in a cream cheese frosting. Feel free to make any of these elements separately and use them for something totally different. This post is Four parts, so scroll through each one and let's make this Banana Shortcake together...

Fun fact: I made my first apple pie back in January of 2015 because I'd overheard Jeremy tell someone that he looooved pie, especially apple pie. So I made one and took a photo and posted it on Instagram because I wanted him to like me. That time I'd used a store bought crust and I diced the apples and I have no idea what spices I used or what ratio. But, obviously it worked because by the end of that month we'd gone on our first date and now we're on our third year of marriage. Since being married, I've perfected my apple pie. Well, I've made it to be what we like best at least. So, let's make pie.
My sister Sarah totally gave me this recipe. So, thank her. I think all of the real food I make comes from her. She’s the best. This recipe can be made with pork or chicken, I honestly love both. They're juicy and slightly spicy with some honey to balance them out. If you do not have an instant pot you can make them in the slow cooker but it will take 19x longer. But that's okay, just plan ahead. Let's make carnitas together.
