Fall is for comfort food. This is that. If you don’t like Mac and cheese, I don’t know how to help you. It’s so creamy and warm. And we loaded ours with crispy bacon, Ritz crumbs and fresh pepper slices (thanks Ms. Millie). I wanna make it again rn looking at all these photos. Yum. Let’s make Mac and cheese together... I’m using orrichiette pasta, but you can use whatever you please. You’re also gonna need 8oz sharp white cheddar. Get some water boiling also get some bacon cooking (med-high heat in a cast iron is my method) Melt 1/4 cup butter in a sauce pan of med-low heat Once your water gets boiling throw in your pasta When the butter is melted add 1/4 cup of flour 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon white pepper. Whisk it good. Cook until it’s smooth and bubbly. If your noodles get done cooking before your sauce is done just drain and add a little butter to them. Pour in 1 cup of milk and 1 cup of heavy cream. Heat it to a boil, stirring often. In between stirs, shred your cheese When the pot reaches a boil, stir in your cheese until it melts. Turn it to low. slice up some peppers Stir your noodles into your sauce you can eat it just like this or you can take it to the next level by: crumbling your crisp bacon, stir in your bacon and peppers, pour it into a casserole dish top with crushed ritz and bake for 15-20 min at 350° I don’t think there’s a way for photos to do this justice. You just need it in your mouth. yum let me know if you make it + how you liked it! right click to save this recipe
